Who I am…

I have been your neighbor for 23 years, living on Durkee Street across from Einstein Middle School. Growing up on a family dairy farm in Marathon County, I developed a solid work ethic and appreciation for the wise use of both money and resources. As a 4-H Junior Leader, I developed a passion for teaching, leading to a 37 year career of teaching Middle level students, the last 22 at Wilson Middle School and Houdini Elementary School. My work outside the classroom included:

  • Coaching Park and Recreation Baseball and Soccer teams.
  • Advising Forensics teams, Directing school musicals, and organizing an Improvisational
  • Comedy Club at Houdini.
  • Officiating FIFA and WIAA soccer.
  • Kohl Fellowship Award Winner for Teaching Excellence.
  • Volunteer at the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center.
  • Performer and Troupe member of Comedy City in DePere for 14 years.

I encourage you to learn more about me by asking…

  • Any of the scores of players, and their parents, who I coached for 6 years in both Park and Recreation Baseball and Soccer, about the opportunities and fun they had both in practices and games.
  • Any member of the Comedy City Improvisational Comedy Troupe about my ability to get along with people of all ages and backgrounds, my cooperation with other performers on stage, and my desire to keep getting better through practice and listening to feedback.
  • Any of the thousands of students, and their parents, who had me as a teacher at Houdini Elementary School or Wilson Middle School about my passion, my organization, and my commitment to the success of each student.
  • Any of the hundreds of young people, and their parents, to whom I was a Forensics Advisor, Improvisational Comedy Instructor, or Basketball Coach, about building confidence along with skills in a team setting.
